Street Preaching

I was out one Saturday giving the Gospel to anyone who would listen when I happened on a town hall meeting. Having being previously convicted by God to preach in the open air, and attracted to the possibility of having a microphone in my hand I stopped to find out what was happening. I discovered that after the main speakers were done, the microphone would be opened to anyone who had something to say. PRAISE GOD! He provided an awesome platform for my first venture in street preaching, wouldn't you agree?

Teach

Deuteronomy 6:7

I have a ministry appointed to me. My wife has a ministry appointed to her. My children will most likely have a ministry appointed to them. I and my wife are both appointed to teach our children the words of the Lord. What a tremendous responsibility that is. It would suffice to fill the time in and of itself.

To teach, I must first learn. To learn, I must hear. It is no wonder then that God begins with "HEAR". Which hearing is not the identification of sound, but listening to understand and apply the words, message, and meaning of what is being taught.

Here is yet another convicting verse. It applies mainly to parents, and then heavily to fathers. It is my responsibility to lead my family. God has set me as the head of the house. No successful leader fails to teach those to whom he is appointed. Here God makes the command plain. For my son and daughter, this verse will most likely apply to you at some point in your life. Will you be prepared to follow through?

Hear O Israel

Deut. 5:1

I don't know where this is leading, but I have been thinking lately of all the times Moses said to hear or to hearken to the words he was about to teach them. God did not reveal Himself in a visual, physical form to Israel. It is not our eyes that God used to reveal Himself to us, but our ears. God reveals Himself to me and the world through His word.

In the beginning was the word (Jn 1:1); In the beginning God (Gen. 1:1); And God said...(Gen. 1:2,6,9,11,14.20,22,24,26,29); and the word was made flesh and dwelt among us (Jn 1:14); He that hath seen me hath seen the Father (Jn 14:9); Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God (Matt. 5:8); He that hath my commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him (Jn 14:21); Sir, we would see Jesus (Jn 12:21).

Would I see Jesus? My heart seems cold to that just now. I am going through the motions and not desiring to see my Savior. Ps. 119 is very convicting, piercing, and I pray - purifying. Oh that I would truly love Him with ALL my heart!

O God my Father transform me, teach me, wash me.
